Homemade dessert that I never get tired of eating

Prepare the Milk Mixture:

In a large saucepan, combine the milk, cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, and lemon rind. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly to infuse the flavors.

Mix the Egg Yolks and Sugar:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Thicken the Milk:

Strain the milk mixture to remove the cinnamon stick and lemon rind. Gradually pour the warm milk into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly to avoid curdling the eggs.

Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly. Add the cornstarch mixed with a little milk to thicken the custard. Continue to stir until the custard thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
